>Lamp Disposal Do You Know The Legal Requirement For Lamp Disposal? Old Fluorescent tubes and discharge lamps all contain mercury and as such are classified as HAZARDOUS waste. This applies to ALL lamps, e.g.. Compact Fluorescent, Metal Halide, Sodium etc. with the exception of Incandescent and Halogen. Under new legislation these lamps can now only be disposed of at approved hazardous waste sites. Even a skip containing one lamp or tube must now be considered as hazardous.
